2010 Aston Martin DBS UB-2010 Limited Edition

Aston Martin unveiled the special edition DBS UB-2010 at the Geneva Motor Show. This limited edition was built to commemorate Dr. Ulrich Bez’s 10th year as Chief Executive of the company. The DBS UB-2010 will be limited to only 40 units, 20 Coupes and 20 Volantes.

Each DBS UB-2010 has been specified personally by Dr. Bez and features a unique ‘Azurite Black’ paint finish, a metallic bronze leather with woven leather seat inserts and a ‘Cryptic Titan’ facia finish. Each car will bare ‘UB-2010’ sill plaques signed by Dr. Bez together with a final inspection plate after Dr. Bez has signed-off each of the 40 cars personally.

2010 Aston Martin Rapide by Cargraphic

After three years of waiting for the Aston Martin Rapide’s arrival, most of us were pretty impressed with the car’s sleek, proportioned look. The English coach builder put a lot of thought into the lines and dimensions of the car that would make everyone forget about the 4-door Lagonda that was the saloon for Aston Martin during the mid-seventies to late-eighties. Of course, not everyone could appreciate the new 4 door just as it was and that is why Cargraphic has merely whispered a few changes into the Rapide to tweak its near-perfect status.

Cargraphic began the Rapide’s minimalistic transformation with a tail diffuser, wing mirror caps, and a spoiler at the front apron. Then they added a remote-controlled, high-grade, steel flap exhaust with a polished shield. Exhaust counterpressure is lowered by adding a 200 cell catalyst. This system enables the Rapide to produce a few more horsepower, although we assume, since the number is not mentioned, that it is by an insignificant amount.

Finally, Cargraphic replaced the current tire setup with their very own 21 inch light alloy rims surrounded by 255/35R21 tires in the front and 295/30R21 tires in the back. Additional rim designs are available in 20 and 22 inch options with the GT, I-10, and SPORT.

The modest changes in the 2010 Aston Martin Rapide aren’t something to go crazy about, but if one was looking for a Rapide that promotes a tad more style and function then this would be the way to go.

2010 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Nurburgring

Next to the four-door sedan Rapide, Aston Martin will also race a V12 Vantage at this weekend’s Nürburgring 24-hour race. The car will be driven by Peter Cate (GB), Oliver Mathai (D), journalist Richard Meaden (GB), and Chris Porritt.

The V12 Vantage Nurburgring car adds new aerodynamic enhancements to the original car which saw off a field of largely specialist race cars in the SP8 class last year. The race spec version of the Rapide wouldn’t be too far off of the production version with the only noticeable differences between the two being the addition of race safety modifications and the elimination of all the interior trims and features found in the production version in an effort to reduce the car’s overall weight. The car is intended as a technical exercise to allow the Aston Martin engineering team to explore further performance potential in the V12 Vantage with the new aerodynamic aids providing greater downforce through the Nürburgring’s myriad of corners and undulating surfaces.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Nurburgring, as well as many others, will have a practice session this morning followed by a nighttime qualifying session tonight at 5:15 CET. The daytime qualifying session will be held on Friday at 12:45 CET with the 38th ADAC Nurburgring 24-HR race beginning at 3:00pm on May 15, 2010.

2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage

The 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage will appear in dealer’s showrooms starting in January of 2010 and the English super car maker has just released a few official images of the 2010 car in both coupe and convertible forms. The new Vantage will come complete with a few modifications inspired by the Nurburgring special N400 Vantage.

The 2010 model will get new optional 10 spoke forged 19 inch alloy wheels with a diamond turned and silver finish. The rear of the new Aston receives a set of cleared out tail lamps while up front the 2010 Vantage benefits from a Magnum silver bonnet. On the inside the hand built super car maker is offering a pair of lightweight carbon kevlar racing buckets that shed over 35 pounds from the sports car as well as the optional 1000 Watt Bang & Olufsen in car entertainment system.

Aston Martin will retain the same 420 HP 4.7 Liter V8 engine, with a few mechanical changes being confirmed for the electronically controlled transmission that will lower the hand built sports car’s CO2 emissions from 328 to 315 g/km, and all the way down to 300 g/km for the Speedshift version allowing Aston’s super car owners to sleep a little easier at night knowing that their new cars are a bit greener than before. 2011 Aston Martin DB9

After seven years of successful history, the Aston Martin DB9 has received a complete package of styling, engineering, and equipment enhancements. Prices in the UK will begin at £122,445 ($182,775) for the Coupe and £131,445 ($196,000) for the Volante.

On the exterior the biggest change is a new bumper with a re-shaped lower intake featuring hexagonal mesh to compliment the new bright finish radiator grille. The DB9 also gets a more prominent ‘hockey stick’ curve ahead of the rear wheels, silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels as standard, together with new design option wheels and a bright finish grille.

Under the hood there is a 6.0-liter V12 engine delivering an unchanged 470bhp and 442lb ft of torque and mated to a choice of six-speed ‘Touchtronic’ paddle-shift automatic or six-speed H-pattern manual transmission. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in just 4.6 seconds and top speed goes up to 190 mph. Also the DB9’s passive damping system has been replaced by a new Adaptive Damping System (ADS), which offers enhanced ride comfort together with sharper handling when switched to Sport mode.

Updated 09/07/2010: Aston Martin today announced US prices for the 2011 DB9 sports car that will go on sale in the third quarter of this year. The coupe version will be priced at $187,615 for the Coupe, and $201,115 for the Volante

2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420

Today, Aston Martin unveiled the special edition V8 Vantage N420, a successor for the special edition V8 Vantage N400 of 2007. This model pays tribute to Aston Martin’s success at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. Deliveries will begin in August with prices starting from £96,995 (around $146,000 at the current exchange rates). It will be offered in both Coupe and Roadster versions.

The new V8 Vantage N420 is powered by a 4.7-liter engine that delivers 420bhp, but, compared to a standard Vantage, it is 27 kilos lighter. On the exterior the car is distinguished by wider sills, a carbon fiber splitter, side strakes and diffuser, 10-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels in gloss black finish, black mesh vents, and ‘Graphitic’ tailpipe finishers. On the interior it gets an Iridium interior package with graphite instruments, leather or Alcantara steering wheel, special N420 sill plaques, and lightweight carbon fiber seats, complete with ‘Race Track’ stitching as in the V12 Vantage. Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, and Park Distance Control are also standard.

Updated 07/14/2010: Aston Martin today announced US prices for the special edition V8 Vantage N420. The new model will make its official U.S. debut at next month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and will go on sale at a price of $132,000 for the coupe and $145,000 for the roadster version.
