2011 Mercedes E63 AMG

Mercedes announced today a few changes made for the 2011 E63 AMG sports sedan model. For 2011 the model will get even higher quality standard appointments. In Germany it will be priced at 105,791 euros for the sedan version and at 108,409 euros for the station wagon version.

Under the hood there is the usual 6.3-liter V8 engine which is now mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission from the SL 63 AMG. This combination develops a total of 525 hp and a peak torque of 630 NM which enables the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph. THe E63 AMG’s fuel efficiency is even decreased by 12% thanks to an on-demand delivery of fuel and generator management with recuperation of braking energy on the overrun. Also adding to the decrease in fuel efficiency is the elimination of the usual torque converter for a "wet start-up clutch running in an oil bath."

For 2011 the interior of the E 63 AMG is being offered with some new options that are sure to please anyone. These options are part of the designo extended leather appointments II range and consist of being able to cover the lower section of the dashboard, the glove compartment lid, the door linings including map pockets, and the side upholstery of the center console with exclusive nappa leather.

2010 Mercedes S-Class Black Bison Edition by Wald

The Japanese tuner Wald International has prepared a new tuning package for the Mercedes S-Class. In the tuner’s tradition the new package is called the Black Bison Edition and includes new front and rear bumpers, sportier fender ducts, refreshed sidesteps, two new rear spoilers (one on the decklid and one above the glass), and 22-inch matte Renovatio wheels.

All of the cars will be painted in an exclusive Wald color and will get a new exhaust system with dual tailpipes.

The same treatment has also been recently applied to the E-Class. For that package the tuner added a new front bumper with a protruding lower lip, four large projector style driving lights, and vents on either side. The difference between the tuning kit for the E-Class and the S-Class is that the latest one comes painted in white, while the E-Class featured a black exterior color.

Prices for the new package have not been announced yet.

2011 Mercedes CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG

Welcome to MY2011 and welcome to the brand new facelifted versions of the Mercedes CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG. This year, Mercedes has opted to leave the exterior of their luxury coupe alone for the most part and focus their attention on the engines of these two vehicles. Nothing shouts perfection like an increase in horsepower and Mercedes wants to make this perfectly clear with these two models by using direct gasoline injection, twin turbochargers, air/water cooling, and controlled efficiency stop/start function.

Starting with the CL63AMG, Mercedes has thrown out the use of the naturally aspirated 6.2L AMG V8 engine and opted instead for a 5.5L biturbo engine mated to an AMG speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission with Sport, Comfort, and Manual modes. This exchange has allowed for an 18hp and 125lb-ft of torque increase for the 2011 model. This little kitten now purrs with 563hp and 664lb-ft of torque. Want to make it go even faster? Opt for the AMG Performance package and the Mercedes turns into a tiger with 563hp and 664lb-ft of torque. The standard model makes the 0-60mph sprint in 4.4secs and has a top speed electronically limited to 155mph while the AMG Performance package shaves 0.1secs off of the 0-60mph sprint and increases top speed to 186mph. Even though the 2011 Mercedes CL63 AMG has had an incredible boost in power, Mercedes has managed to decrease fuel consumption by 27% and CO2 emissions by 30.

The 2011 Mercedes CL65 AMG carries over the same 6.0L twin turbo V12 engine as last year for its range topper, but Mercedes has managed to push out an extra 17hp to the car’s performance. Now the CL65 AMG is capable of producing 621hp at 4800RPM and 738lb-ft of torque at 2000-4000RPM. The engine is mated to an AMG speedshift 5-spped transmission with Sport, Comfort, and Manual modes. This combination allows the CL65 AMG to make the 0-60mph sprint in 4.2secs and leaves it with an electronically limited top speed of 186mph.

2010 Mercedes SL 63 AMG Black Saphir by Inden Design

Get ready to spend some cash because Inden Design is ready to take it. They’ve developed a tuning package for the Mercedes SL63 AMG that will leave your wallets empty, but your Mercedes stacked. Their kit includes a new body kit and interior and technical changes.

The body kit starts off with a front spoiler bumper, fenders with ventilation openings, a complete hood with air intakes, sidesmolder-learn, a tailspoiler, and rear widening. This “base” body kit will cost the consumer € 19,900. Not a bad starting point, but it starts to get a little out of hand from there. If the consumer wants to add a hood, they’ll need to add € 3,500. A tail diffuser in carbon and a front flap of PE will add € 800 and € 999, respectively. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there for the money the consumer will have to spend. Assembly of the package will run € 8,000 and adding a lacquer finish inclusive putty work will be € 7,500.

2010 Mercedes C250 CGI by Vath

The German tuner, Vath, is well-known for the tuning kits they have provided for Mercedes’ AMG models, but now, the tuning firm has unveiled a new tuning package for the Mercedes C250 with both performance and styling upgrades. It’s no E63 AMG, but this tuning kit does what it needs to for the C250. Thanks to a V25 tuning kit, the engine’s power has been increased to 255 HP and 370 Nm torque. If you want a little more power than there is always the option of adding another charged air cooler and a sport exhaust system that can take the power up to 270 HP. The result is a top speed of 161 mph.

Next to the engine upgrades, the C250 has also received upgrades that will also improve the sedan’s aerodynamics. These additions include a new bonnet, front spoiler lip, a rear diffuser, and a trunk spoiler all made of carbon fiber. The exterior of the car is finished with a set of 19" alloy wheels.

The package was completed once the tuner added an adjusted brake system with 360 mm braking discs on the front and 320 mm braking discs at the back. The interior also received carbon inserts in combination with an Alcantara roof interior lining.

2011 Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster

Mercedes has caused history to repeat itself as they have come out with a roadster version for one of their popular coupes. This trend was seen in the SLR McLaren and will now repeat itself with the SLS AMG coupe version. The SLS AMG Roadster will be revealed later this year, most likely at the Paris Auto Show, and will go on sale in 2011.

In terms of design, the roadster version will remain faithful to the coupe version. However, it will drop the gullwing doors in favor of more traditional units, including the possibility of scissor-type doors like those found on the older McLaren SLR roadster. The SLS Roadster will be offered with Mercedes’ traditional retractable soft-top.

The Mercedes SLS AMG roadster version will be powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine with 563 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. However, being a much heavier model, it will rocket from 0 to 60mph in 4.0 seconds before topping out at approximately 192 mph.

In USA, the SLS Roadster will be priced at around $200K.

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS

After the leaked brochure from the other days, Mercedes has decided to uncover the new generation CLS-Class before its official debut at the Paris Auto Show. And as everyone expected, the new CLS keeps the same proportions as the old model, but has adopted a completely new look inspired by the Shooting Break Concept.

The CLS’s design combines elements from the concept with the new SLS AMG: there is a long, sporty bonnet, a grille dominated by the large central star, large, elongated dark air inlets with black grilles, full LED headlamps, flared wheel arches and wide wrap-around tail lights featuring LED technology.

The interior also combines innovative details and handcrafted perfection: a high line sweeps from the driver’s door over the instrument panel support and across to the front passenger door. The central display has also been integrated harmoniously into the upper part of the instrument panel. At the same time, the downward sweeping side line on the doors continues the dynamic dropping line of the exterior.

Mercedes said nothing about the car’s specifications, but we expect a new 3.5-liter direct-injection V6, as well as a twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8. That last motor will put out around 430 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. There will be an AMG version with the new 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 as well.

2010 Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series 1000 HP by MKB

An 800hp Mercedes SL65 AMG by Brabus? That’s old school. Check out the new Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series that develops a total of 1000hp. Yeah, that’s more like it. Tuning firm, MKB, has manged to get this type of power out of the Mercedes after an enormous engine conversion that added 345hp to the already speedy SL65 AMG.

The engine conversion included new air intakes, turbo charger systems, cooling systems, and, of course, an ECU upgrade. The result? A sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in 8.9 seconds, and from 0 to 186 mph in 21.5 seconds. Top speed has not been measured yet, but we imagine it will be significantly higher than the 198mph top speed provided by the standard Mercedes SL65 AMG. The total cost for the engine tuning is 116,800 euro.

"Our main goal with the new engine MKB P 1000 isn’t a new one. We simply want to give back the top speed performance to this SL with its high downforce-aerosetting. It should be v-max capable just like our other top speed efficient cars. And for this we need more than 800 engine horsepower," points out MKB CEO Panagiotis Avramidis.

The tuning package also includes a decent exterior design and refinement in the interior. The full package takes about three months to complete

2010 Mercedes CL65 AMG Black Edition by Anderson Germany

Anderson Germany have already released tuning kits for the Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition and the Ferrari California this month alone, but that is not going to stop them from taking a stab at the Mercedes CL65 AMG.

For this particular tuning project, the tuner started with the engine, as they all should. Adding some software optimization, sports air filters, a sports exhaust system (plasma coated), racing catalysts, and larger pulleys, the high performance coupe’s engine now delivers a total of 670 HP (up from the standard 621 HP).

The exterior look of the Mercedes is upgraded with a full carbon exterior packet in jet black. This package includes an external mirror, window frames, a front grill, door handles, hatchback panel, ventilator frames on the engine bonnet, and a beautiful black matte paint job. The whole package is finished by 22 inch rims in black/gloss with carbon edging in jet black.

The interior gets leather finishing, a complete HiFi system, and an interior finish in carbon leather/dark brown leather/dark brown Alcantara.
