all the posts to day will be about kia cars company .

2011 Kia Optima

Kia unveiled the 2011 Optima today at the 2010 New York Auto Show. For 2011, the Optima will be offered in the same three trims as before: LX, EX, and SX. Sales will begin this fall.

Customers will have to choose from three different engines as opposed to the two engines previously offered: a 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder with 200 hp, a 2.0-liter GDI V6 turbo engine that delivers 274 hp or a 2.4-liter hybrid (available starting 2011). The engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission (LX only) or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior gets a more futuristic look with sharper lines and a new grill. The new, curvier grill is surrounded by projector headlamps and accented with boldly flared wheel arches, a raked cabin, dual exhaust with chrome tips, solar glass, outside mirror turn signal indicators, and 16-inch steel wheels.

The interior comes standard with UVO powered by Microsoft®4 infotainment system with rear-view camera and a push button-start ignition with smart key. Some of the previous features are still seen in the new Optima such as dual-zone automatic air conditioning with rear vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink®5 and compass, auto light control, driver and front passenger automatic window up/down and eight-way power driver’s seat, lighted glovebox, rear reading lamps, floor mats, and chrome door handles.

2010 Kia Ghost Soul

Kia announced today the fourth and last special edition of the 2010 Soul (next to the Ignition Soul, Denim Soul and Shadow Dragon Soul). Are they serious with these names? The new Ghost Soul is on sale at a price of $19,490 which is the highest of the four special edition models that Kia has introduced. Needless to say, consumers will have to show Kia the money if they want to ride around in the spirited special edition.

The Kia Ghost Soul is based on a Soul+ model and will be distinguished by a body kit, moonroof, fog lights, black 18-inch alloy wheels with machined accents, a sport trim spoiler as well as the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. On the interior, it will get black leather-trimmed seats with seat warmers and metallic and chrome accents. It also comes with the Audio Upgrade Package (center speaker, subwoofer and external amplifier).

We think it’s safe to say we love all four models simply because the Kia Soul had us at toe-tapping, head-bobbing hamsters. They complete us.

Just a little much needed Jerry Maguire humor.

2010 Kia Soul Edition Irmscher 001

The Kia Soul has sen its fair share of customizations. Even without the aid of tuning companies, Kia has released the Shadow Dragon Soul, Ghost Soul, Ignition Soul, and a few others. Now, a tuning company has decided they want to take a stab at the Kia Soul. Irmscher is usually known for its customization program for Opel models, but today the German tuner announced the first tuning kit for the Kia Soul. Called "Edition Irmscher 001", the tuning kit features a black and white exterior, large five-spoke custom rims, and a combination of black and red on the interior.

The exterior is painted in white combined with black mirror cases and roof and bumper inserts. The car sits on 18-inch alloy wheels. For the interior, customers will be able to choose between a range of leather finishes: a two tone upholstery for the seats (red quilted leather and black leather) and black-carbon-style leather on the steering wheel and gearbox.

The new Soul "Irmscher 001 Edition" is offered for any powerplant including a 126HP 1.6-liter petrol and a 128HP 1.6-liter diesel with a manual or automatic transmission, and trim levels.

2010 Kia Forte EX

So, you want to buy a small sedan for the family? Something that gets great mileage, offers decent room inside the cabin and the trunk and is also able to give out a little power here and there. Let’s not forget fuel economy, this little sedan needs to get 30 miles per gallon or better on the highway. So, what shall you buy?

Well, Kia is offering up the Forte. A new sedan that offers loads for your money, but isn’t as cheap as Kias used to be.

The Forte is the kind of... sort of...the successor to the Spectra, but that really isn’t the case at all. Gone are the bland and boring looks of the old Spectra, replaced by a great soulful product. Kia needed this car in a big way considering all of the competition in the segment from Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Ford and Chevrolet.

With a muscular body style, the Forte continues the wonderful looks that came previously on the Soul. With a pronounced shoulder line that extends back to the rear, the car has a very butch look. The stance is wide and low, giving the Forte good cornering ability. The sweptback headlights and curved grille help give the front fascia a clean appearance.

2011 Kia Sportage First Edition

Kia is celebrating the launch of their new Sportage model with the launch of a special edition. The new Kia Sportage First Edition will go on sale on August 1, 2010.

The Kia Sportage First Edition will be available with an all-wheel drive system, a choice of manual or automatic transmissions, and an efficient common-rail turbodiesel engine. It will also come with a choice of five colors – including the striking Techno Orange.

The First Edition will be distinguished by a full leather interior, dual zone climate control, automatic rain-sensing wipers, LED daytime running lights, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Featuring a fresh, bold, athletic and sporty design; longer, lower and wider than the previous generation model, the new Sportage will offer more space for people and cargo, with improved ride quality thanks to the longer wheelbase. The 2011 Kia Sportage will be available with choice of both diesel and gasoline engines.

2010 Kia Soul Echo

Apparently the onslaught of special edition Kia Souls is not done yet. Kia has unveiled a new special edition Soul today called the Soul Echo. It will be available in Clear White or Quartz Black metallic. The white Echo features black 18" alloy wheels, black high-gloss door mirrors, and a corresponding black sports stripe. The black Echo features white 18" alloy wheels, white high-gloss door mirrors, and a sports stripe in white.

Inside, the new edition gets a full black leather interior and high-gloss black dashboard fascia that matches the black and white theme of the exterior of the car. It also features an uprated sound system with subwoofer, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, and reversing sensors.
The new Soul Echo will be offered with a choice of 1.6-liter petrol or 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engines and will be available with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Traction Control (TC).

We’ll go ahead and add the Echo special edition to the list that includes the Shadow Dragon Soul, Ghost Soul, Ignition Soul, and Denim Soul, among others.

2010 Kia Picanto Domino & Rio Domino

It seems like Kia is really into unveiling special editions these days. The second one unveiled today is a new Domino special edition, available for both the Picanto and the Rio.

The new Domino edition is available, you guessed it, in white or optional black metallic. Depending on the color you chose for the exterior, the body-colored bumpers, mirrors, and door handles can be offset with an optional contrasting black or white domino effect stripe.

Next to this the new edition gets 14-inch alloy wheels (Rio) and 14-inch wheel trims (Picanto), air-conditioning, iPod connectivity, remote central locking, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear-knob. The Rio Domino also gets rear electric windows added to the list of standard equipment.

The new edition is available with either a 1.4-liter petrol or 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine and is priced at £7,995 for Picanto and from £9,295 for the Rio version.

2011 Kia Sportage

The Korean automaker Kia has officially released details about the next generation Sportage SUV, the 2011 Kia Sportage. Sharing the same platform with its compatriot, the Hyundai Tucson, the 2011 Sportage looks to have the leg-up on the Tucson in terms of being a little bigger and wider, which should translate into having a roomier interior.

The design for the 2011 Sportage also seems to have benefitted from the supervision of Peter Schreyer, whose previous design work with Audi has seemingly translated into some of the aesthetic design cues that can be noticed in the new Sportage, including sharper curves, and a completely revamped front end that previous Sportage models didn’t come in.

Featuring a fresh, bold, athletic and sporty design; longer, lower and wider than the previous generation model, the new Sportage will offer more space for people and cargo, with improved ride quality thanks to the longer wheelbase; the new Sportage will go on sale later this year, with a choice of both diesel and gasoline engines following its debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show.

Updated 07/21/2010: Kia today announced prices for the 2011 Sportage that will go on sale in USA at a price of $18,295 for the base trim that includes: air conditioning, power windows, door locks and mirrors, SIRIUS® Satellite Radio capability with three months complimentary service, Bluetooth wireless technology and MP3 connectivity.

2010 Kia Electric POP Concept

The electric car bandwagon is pushing full steam ahead as another automaker has decided to jump up and tag along. Kia Motors will unveil a new electric concept called the "POP" at the Paris Motor Show on September 30th. This latest concept from Kia will produce zero emissions and will be long enough, at three meters, to fit three.

While Kia revealed no other details on the concept, we expect it to be a preview version of a future city electric model that will take on models like the Toyota iQ. Taking a look at the picture you can notice that the POP concept features a panoramic glass roof, so we expect a powertrain similar to the one of the Ray Plug-In Hybrid Concept. This concept is powered by an all aluminum Gasoline Direct Injected (GDI) 1.4 Liter engine producing 153 HP combined with a 78kw electric motor mated to a permanently engaged fixed ratio Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) for increased fuel efficiency.

Further information will be released in due course. The 2010 Paris Motor Show runs from September 30th to October 17th.
