2010 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Pebble Beach 60th anniversary edition

Abu Dhabi is not the only country to get special edition Rolls Royce Phantoms, the UK has also received a special Drophead Coupe that celebrates Pebble Beach’s 60th anniversary.

The new 60th Anniversary Special Edition will be distinguished by a Stillwater Blue exterior paint that was chosen as a tribute to Stillwater Cove on the Monterey Peninsula. It will also receive a navy blue soft top lined with cashmere and a Crème Light leather interior. The interior of the Phantom will also get wood fittings outfitted in cross-banded Santos Pallisander veneer and a silver pinstripe inlay. The luxury doesn’t end there though. Other quality materials include hand-crafted oiled teak decking found in the roof cover and luggage compartment. The teak extends over to the picnic deck that comes with a set of crystal flutes.

"This 60th Anniversary Special Edition is the embodiment of our Bespoke capabilities in Goodwood," explains Torsten Müller-Ötvös, "It demonstrates the ability of our designers and artisans to create something absolutely appropriate for an occasion and ultimately, something exceptional to cherish forever."

2010 Rolls Royce Abu Dhabi Bespoke Phantoms

Rolls Royce has unveiled two special edition Phantoms for its Abu Dhabi customers, each of them inspired by the city’s rich culture and natural landscape.

The four-door version takes its inspiration from the Baynunah region of western Abu Dhabi, UAE. The exterior shares the same beige and brown shades as found in the sand dunes of the region while the interior takes those same colors to enrich the beauty of the cabin.

The Coupe version was inspired by the Shaheen which is the region’s famous falcon. The exterior is a marquise-white color while the twin coach line stands out in Tudor red. The exterior is matched up with a red and Seashell leather interior that also features a brass falcon inlay and falcon embroidered head-rests. These headrests are special in their own right because they lay claim to 11 thread colors that comprise of 21,011 stitches per headrest.

Along with these two special editions for the Abu Dhabi area is the Bespoke Programme. This program is a service offered to Rolls-Royce clients for that allows them to customize their Rolls Royce beyond that of the traditional option list.

2010 Rolls-Royce White Ghost Limited by Mansory

It’s not every day you get the chance to see a tuned-up Rolls Royce. In fact, we would love to hear about any Rolls Royce out there that has received the attention of a professional tuning firm other than the one that we are about to present to you. Tuning firm, Mansory, has made the Ghost luxury sedan look even sportier and more elegant than before. The package is called Ghost White Limited and includes both engine and aerodynamic updates.

The car is painted in a subtle white and adds a new front-end featuring additional LED daytime running lights and vertical air outlets on the sides. The Ghost will also get new side skirts, rear view mirrors on each side, a rear spoiler, and a rear apron with implied diffuser and dual sport-exhaust-system. The exterior package is finished by 22" diamond-polished wheels.

The interior gets high grade leather with a cross-stitched pattern, headliner and dash board made of Alcantara, and sports steering wheel with bamboo inserts.

The engine has been optimized to deliver a total of 638 HP at 5700 rpm and a peak torque of 860 NM up from the standard 563bhp and 780 NM of torque. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a slower 4.5 seconds, but a top speed of 180 mph (up from 155mph).

Such a luxurious and classy car may not need any upgrades to further its level of sophistication and, quite honestly, we are debating on whether or not such a car should even see the hands of a tuner. That being said, there is no harm in improving on what we have already been given, so let us know of any professionally tuned Rolls Royce vehicles you have seen. We’d be interested in compiling a list of the classiest projects that have been completed.

2010 Rolls Royce Ghost

In March at the Geneva Motor Show Rolls Royce brought the 200EX Concept. It was previewing a new model series, known until now as the "baby Rolls Royce." The new Ghost takes its inspiration from contemporary furniture, architecture and yachts but also in the spirit of the 1930s.

Like all the Rolls Royce models, the new Ghost comes with elevated prow, long bonnet, short front overhang, sharply raked A-pillar and elegant tail, but adds self-righting wheel centers and the Xenon headlamps and curved intakes. It will be available in 12 exterior colors, contrasting with Silver Satin finish for the bonnet, grille and windscreen surround.

The 2010 Ghost will be powered by a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 563bhp and 780 NM of torque (most powerful car that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has ever produced). This power is enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and to hit a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. The engine is mated to an eight-speed, shift-by-wire, automatic ZF gearbox and has a fuel consumption of 20.8 mpg.

Rolls Royce announced at the LA Auto Show that the 2011 Ghost will retail for $245,000 and that they are working on a gas/electric version of the Ghost that will be based around the same hybrid drivetrain that is found in its Bavarian cousin, the BMW ActiveHybrid 7.

2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom

When Rolls-Royce announces a facelift, even a minor one, it makes news. for the 2009 model year the Phantom is enhanced to come closer in line with the sportier Phantom Coupé. This includes a new front-end that includes a streamlined front bumper and a shallower stainless steel grille.

Other new exterior features include LED door handle illumination and 21-inch cast aluminum wheels are now standard. Two further wheel options exist, both manufactured in forged alloy and available in either painted or part polished finishes.

2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom Sapphire

Rolls-Royce is about making exclusive cars, so its no surprise when it comes out with a special edition from its Bespoke Collection. For those that missed out on the Roller’s Phantom Pearl, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Tungsten editions, now comes the Rolls-Royce Phantom Sapphire.

The Phantom Sapphire takes its name from the bodywork’s unique shade of Milori Sapphire which is a unique shade of navy blue. The interior comes in a choice of two color combinations either navy blue with seashell highlights or seashell with navy blue highlights.

Lucky owners who want to celebrate their new exclusive Rolls (or the fact that they are stinkn’ rich) will appreciate cool box hidden under the back seats perfect for a little New Year’s bubbly. To complete the drink-drive package, the car also comes with diamond motif hand engraved crystal tumblers and champagne flutes.

2009 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe

Rolls Royce will unveil at the Geneva Motor Show the Coupe version of the luxury sedan Phantom. The Phantom Coupe version comes two years after the unveiling of the 101EX Concept unveiled in 2006. Production of the new Coupe will begin at Goodwood in the summer.

The Phantom Coupe is powered by a 6.75-litre V12 that produces 453 bhp, 720 Nm of torque and has segment-leading fuel economy. A 25 per cent increase in fuel capacity, compared to the Drophead Coupé, adds significant driving range. Agile, fast, long-legged and virtually silent, the Phantom Coupé allows both driver and passengers to emerge unruffled, even after an all-day run.

At the core of the Phantom Coupé is an advanced aluminium chassis, perhaps the single most significant component in delivering the marque’s legendary refinement. Lightweight and exceptionally strong, it impacts positively on ride comfort, handling and safety. Hand made, it requires over 130 meters of welding to create each body.
