All the Posts Today will be about the Landrover cars Co.

2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 Sport

Land Rover U.K. has just added a new model to their Freelander 2 lineup of go anywhere compact SUVs with the Freelander 2 Sport version, a new model that will go on sale in January of 2010 priced at a very reasonable £26,695. The sportier special edition Freelander will be available in two different trim levels to suit a variety of consumer’s tastes and come in two distinct exterior colors: Santorini Black and Lago Grey.

The Freelander 2 Sport is a much more serious looking sport utility with a purpose built appearance and no time for nonsense. The new car is distinguished from ordinary Freelanders thanks to a set of limited edition diamond turned alloy wheels measuring 19 inches in diameter as well as color matching exterior trim that includes a sporty rear spoiler, door handles and mirror covers while the inside of the Freelander 2 Sport benefits from a unique two tone interior treatment. Overall the new Freelander 2 Sport is the perfect option for the new car shopper who is looking for a go anywhere compact SUV that is short on unnecessary accessories and a bit more aggressive appearance then the run of the mill Land Rover.

2013 Range Rover Sport Hybrid

Well, it didn’t take long to receive confirmation on the story we brought forth only yesterday. Land Rover confirmed today that the company is indeed preparing a hybrid Range Rover and that it will be unveiled in 2013. The first testings will begin in late 2010.

The Land Rover Range_e features a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain and a new ZF eight-speed automatic that will be used in all of the future models. Land Rover said that the company is also considering adding a petrol-electric hybrid system.

The first model said to be introduced with the hybrid technology will be the Range Rover Sport with the full-sized Range Rover and the Land Rover Discovery not being too far behind. The hybrid version of the Range Rover will be priced at around £10k, but Land Rover is also considering a plug-in hybrid model for 2015. This plug-in hybrid Range Rover is one of the most exciting developments. Chief engineer of hybrids at Jaguar Land Rover, Peter Richings, said: "It means you can drive a Range Rover for at least 20 miles on full electric power around town, emissions of less than 100g/km and speeds of up to 70mph in EV mode."

2010 Range Rover Sport and Vogue Platinum V and S packages by Onyx

Onyx Concept Bespoke Automotive is in the car tuning business not to tinker around with cars, but to question conformity. They believe cars are beginning to lose their style and appeal, so they are in business to challenge the automotive business by creating tuning packages for models such as Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Land Rover. Creating design and style is exactly what they have done with their new Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Vogue tuning packages. The V and S packages not only provide a full body kit for the Range Rover models, but they also provide an impressive revamping of the cars’ engines.

The V and S packages begin with front and rear bumpers, arches, and spoilers made of high quality fiberglass reinforced plastic. The side vents, front grills, and rear diffusers are made of a more luxurious material: carbon fiber. The body kit makes the car look lower and wider than the standard Range Rover model and also adds a square shape to the Range Rover that is questionable in terms of taste. The Range Rover fulfills its exterior destiny with a set of 22” forged bespoke custom TPM1 alloy wheels. The interior of the Range Rover models gets only a minor, but exceptional change: buffalo hide perforated leather

2010 Range Rover Autobiography Black Limited Edition

Our heads are still reeling from the launch of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover and Land Rover has already gone back to work, spewing out a special edition. In order to celebrate Range Rover’s 40th anniversary, Land Rover has unveiled the Autobiography Black 40th Anniversary Limited Edition. There will be only 700 units built with a unique color combination as well as striking interior and exterior design features.

The Range Rover Autobiography Black Limited Edition will be painted in Barolo Black exterior paint and will also feature 20" alloy wheels, Diamond Turned, a unique front grille with Titan grille mesh, a bright chrome grille ‘U’ edge, black grille surround, bright chrome bars, and a black vent surround. It will also feature body colored door handles and, of course, the tailgate badge, ’Autobiography Black’.

For the interior Land Rover offers a combination of two colors: Jet and Ivory or Jet and Pimento. The Autobiography Black logo is discretely repeated throughout the interior where it is embossed on the rear seat armrest and appears on the four unique, Grand Black door veneers. The steering wheel is also Grand Black and half wood.

Happy 40th anniversary, Range Rover, but we hate to break it to you; 40 years is supposed to be celebrated with a ruby. Perhaps a ruby red for the exterior would have been more appropriate?

2010 Range Rover Project Militar by SR Auto Group

Remember the R8 V10 Project Valkyrie from the other day? Well, today we bring you another project from SR Auto Group in the form of the Range Rover Project Militar.

The Range Rover Project Militar features a Militar gray exterior body paint with Strut Package that includes a new grille, air intakes, and various other cosmetic touches. The package is finished by 24" Agetro V500 wheels in either a matte black finish or gloss black lip with a basics leveling system suspension.

For the interior SR Auto Group is offering an Alpine MRP-M500 500W amplifier, AVI SL-250 subwoofer, and custom subwoofer enclosure.

There’s no word on if the tuner added any extra horsepower to the engine, but considering the Valkyrie project only came with aesthetic changes, we will have to assume that the Land Rover received the same treatment. If we had to choose, we would take the aggressive looking Audi transformed by SR Auto Group previously, but to each his own.

2011 Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover is celebrating its Range Rover’s 40th anniversary with the unveiling of the brand new Range Rover Evoque, an all-new coupe SUV that will join the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport line-up in the summer of 2011. The official debut will be made in September at the Paris Motor Show.

The new Evoque will be the smallest, lightest, and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced. Customers have a choice of both a 4WD and a 2WD version, with a sub 130g/km CO2 demonstrating the Range Rover brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

"The all-new Range Rover Evoque is a true global car and will be sold in over 160 countries. It was important to give the car a name that was instantly recognizable through language and cultural boundaries throughout the world. We wanted to create a new name which was innovative and different. A name which implies exclusivity and arouses emotions. Evoque is cosmopolitan and cross-continental, sophisticated and matches the car’s urban elegance

2010 Land Rover Discovery TD5 Sport by Unichip

The European tuner Unichip has unveiled a new tuning package for the Land Rover Discovery Series 2. Called the "Sport Conversion," the new package increases the engine’s power to 176 bhp (49 bhp over the standard model) at 4000 rpm and 279 lb.ft of torque at 2957 rpm (an increase of 63 lb.ft). For this power increase, Unichip added a new ‘U-Connect’ plug and play Unichip ECU, designed and developed specifically for the TD5.

This unit comes pre-mapped by Unichip Europe with adjustments to fueling and turbo boost levels to maximize performance throughout the rev range. Fitted in minutes, courtesy of its specially developed wiring loom, the Unichip’s ECU map is the end result of months of dyno and road testing, towing and off road assessment to ensure optimized settings and reliability.

The price for the Unichip Europe Sport conversion is £1396.00 and the price for the Unichip U-Connect ECU package separately is £630.09.

2011 Land Rover LR2/Freelander 2

Land Rover is taking a bold step with this new LR2/Freelander 2. The new machine breaks away from the norm, as Land Rover will offer a front-wheel drive setup. That’s kind of like Porsche offering an SUV; it’s just plain wrong. The front-wheel drive setup will be the only option on this diesel model. Of course, we probably won’t even see it considering diesel models never make it to our shores.

We should see these new vehicles in the UK by the end of September packing a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel with 150 horsepower. If you’re upset at the fact that the new Freelander will get front-wheel drive, take this fact in for a moment. With the diesel motor and a manual transmission, the Land Rover will be able to get 38 miles per gallon.

If you live in the United States and you want some of this front-wheel drive Land Rover action, then you’re going to have to wait for the Evoque.

The Land Rover will be offered with all-wheel drive as well, but at the penalty of around 5 mpg. There will also be a 190 horsepower petrol motor, but it will only be offered with an automatic.

On the outside, the LR2/Freelander 2 gets an overhaul in the looks department. There is a new bumper cap with redone fog lamps, a revised grille, and updated headlights and taillights. If you are having trouble noticing the changes, it’s not a big deal, we did too.

Inside, the Land Rover gets reworked gauges, seats, carpets, and storage. We were hoping for a bigger update than this, but it’s not bad.

2012 Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover is getting old. In fact, it just reached the big 4-0 and for their big birthday celebration, the company is creating the new 2012 Evoque. It is the lightest and most fuel efficient Land Rover in the company’s history, but it’s not like the other models set the bar very high in those departments anyway.

The car will be smaller than the LR2 and will be more of a sports machine than an off-road vehicle. Buyers will be able to choose from a two-door or a four-door model, both of which are close to their concept counterparts. The car will officially be called the Range Rover Evoque, as this model is more on the luxurious side of things.

There will be a front-wheel drive model - the first in the company’s history - and an all-wheel drive model available. There will likely be a diesel motor with start/stop technology, but no word on if that motor will be in the United States. Land Rover believes that this diesel motor should be able to deliver the same sort of economy as the base Mini Cooper.

We expect Land Rover to create a hybrid model as well and Land Rover has announced that it should come two years after its Paris Motor Show launch in September.
