
General Motors unveils today details on the new 2011 Sierra Denali HD pick-up powered by a new 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel engine. It will be available exclusively for the 2500HD chassis, in a 4WD crew cab standard box configuration.
The new Duramax 6.6 liter turbo diesel V-8 delivers a total of 397 hp at 3,000 rpm and 765 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm. The 0-60 mph sprint will be made in less than 9 seconds and quarter-mile in less than 16 seconds in 2500HD models. The engine is mated to a new Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission.
The new Sierra Denali HD is distinguished by a new, three-bar grilles and powertrain-badged louvered hoods, along with a revised, full-width chrome steel front bumper and a new family of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels.
Updated 04/09/2010: GMC today announced prices for the 2011 Sierra Heavy Duty Pickups that will go on sale this summer. Prices will start at $27,965 for the 2500 regular cab 2WD model and will go up to $45,865 for the Sierra Denali HD.
