2010 Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo

The Italian automaker Maserati has just unveiled the GranTurismo MC Trofeo spec racecar at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The GranTurismo MC Trofeo is based on the GranTurismo MC Concept and will be sold to competitors who wish to compete in the MC Trofeo racing series which will consist of 14 races held on seven different dates featuring two 40 minute races per event at a handful of Europe’s most prestigious racing circuits. When participants enroll in the championship, they will acquire a comprehensive package that consists of everything they will need to be competitive in the series, and may enter as an individual or part of a team.

The MC Trofeo is powered by the same 4.7 Liter V8 engine as the standard road car, except that the MC Trofeo’s power plant has been upgraded with a racing spec exhaust system, free flowing air filter and a reprogrammed ECU to make them all work together and delivers a maximum output of 450 HP and 376 lb-ft of torque at 4750 RPM. Adding to the Gran Turismo’s track readiness is a racing spec suspension as well as a unique set of wheels made to handle the large amount of slick rubber.
