Peugeot today unveiled the first details on the new 508. The new model will replace both the 407 and the 607 and will go on sale in Europe early next year. The official debut will be made in September at the Paris Auto Show. A station wagon version will be revealed at a later date.
The car’s design language was previewed by the "5 by Peugeot" Concept unveiled this year at the Geneva Motor Show: a luminescent surround, unique version of Peugeot’s signature front grill, long sculpted lightweight aluminum bonnet with the obligatory lion emblem up front, brushed aluminum accents on the window frames and matching door handles.
The Peugeot 508 engine line-up will include a full range of VTi and THP engines. There will also be a hybrid version that will feature Peugeot’s e-HDi technology and a start/stop engine system. We may even see a Hybrid4 diesel flagship with lithium-ion battery technology.
